Act #1- Pennies for Patients (Paige)

Paige is 5 years old.  Her school sent home a little green box to collect money for kids with Leukemia. On the box was the phrase "Pennies for Patients".  Her dad explained to her that some kids are sick and we need to collect money to help them find a way to make them better.  One her first reactions was to ask if she could take some of the money from a Jar we have been saving our change in for a trip to Disney World next year.   She said in a very serious way "It is more important to help these kids than for us to go to Disney!".  Who could say no to that?  After that moment she was on a mission to collect "Pennies" for these kids.  She went to all of our neighbors houses, took the little box to church and asked everyone she could, and had me ask my co-workers (3 of which gave her large bags of pennies that they had on their desks).  She collected so much in the few days she was doing this that she broke her box.  More than 1/2 of a gallon size plastic bag was filled with change and dollars.  It was so heavy, she had to sit when I took this picture of her!  Her class in two weeks collected $207.43!  Pretty amazing for a group of 5 year olds!
