Act #15- Community Servings Program (Kierin)

Two weeks ago I spent an afternoon at the Community Servings program in Boston, MA. Community Servings is a non-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. They provide 5 days-worth of meals to over 800 clients in the Boston area, and for many this is there only source of nutrition.  I worked in the kitchen preparing and packaging chicken salad sandwiches, snacks, and desserts for clients. This experience was very rewarding; I had a great time working with the staff and other volunteers in the facility, and felt very blessed to be able to contribute to a cause that is so essential. When I heard about this opportunity, I immediately thought of my Nana, who spends every Wednesday at a similar Meals on Wheels Program. Nana certainly inspired me to volunteer with Community Servings, and I would like to follow in her footsteps and make it a regular part of my schedule. Thank you Nana
