Act #37- Hanging with the Huffmans (Nicole/Justin- Mostly Justin)

When we got married and moved here,  we started to take our oldest nephews a couple of times a year.  Usually for Thanksgiving weekend and also a weekend in August when we would take two of the boys back to school shopping thanks to Justin's Grandma.  We realized that we needed to start taking Justin's other brothers' kids to be fair.  So a couple of years ago we started offering to take their kids for a night every summer.  They have Lucus (13), Alyssa (9), Teagan (3) and Rylee (10 months).  Even though we only get the older 3 right now, it is a lot to go from 1 child to 4, so one night is more than enough fun!

A few weeks ago, I emailed my sister-in-law a list of a few dates we could take them.  This weekend happened to be one of those dates, but she asked if there was anyway she could bring the kids early Friday morning and pick them up on Sunday afternoon.  They were just trying to figure the weekend out because Dan wanted to go to Pismo Beach with his new sand car and Michelle had a commitment about 4 hours away (She owns a gymnastics studio and often either travels with her team or she judges too).  She acknowledged that it was a lot and gave us an out, but we discussed it an decided to go ahead and commit.

However, life threw a curve ball last weekend when I ended up in the Hospital and had my gall bladder removed.  I am still recovering this weekend, so I knew if we had the kids then it would be mostly Justin taking care of them.  We discussed it and decided that we didn't want to back out because they were counting on us.

Justin took all of the kids to the last day of Vacation Bible School at our church which was a blast until he temporarily lost Paige which freaked him out.  Yesterday, he took the kids to the fair (With the help of Mkaila).  Today he took them to church.  He did his best to keep them outside so that I could rest.  The kids had an amazing time and of course did not want to leave!
